AFCAT 1 Vacancy 2024

For the courses commencing in January 2025, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a total of 317 vacancies for the Flying Branch and Ground-Duty (Non-Technical) Branches.

AFCAT Notification 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification

  • Flying Branch & Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks each in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level and possess a three-year graduation degree or a BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.
  • Ground Duty (Technical)—Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) (AE(L)): Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level and hold a degree in graduation or post-graduation in the field of engineering and technology from a recognized university.

Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025)

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years old (Candidates must have been born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2005)
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical): 20 to 26 years (Candidates must have been born between 02/01/1999 to 01/01/2005)

Selection Process

  • Written Test: The written test will comprise 100 questions with a maximum of 300 marks. The mode of the exam will be online, and the duration of the test will be 2 hours. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
  • AFSB Interview: Candidates who qualify for the written test will be called for the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview round. The AFSB Interview is a comprehensive assessment that evaluates the candidate’s aptitude, intelligence, and personality.
  • Medical Examination: The candidates who clear the AFSB interview will undergo a medical examination at either the Institute of Aviation Medicine in Bengaluru or the Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME).

The application process for the AFCAT Exam 2024 is as follows:
